This quick and easy guide runs through how to install presets into the MODAL Argon8 hardware synthesizer – this will work with the Argon8, Argon8M and Argon8X. In this tutorial, we’ll be using our ‘Serenity’ preset pack to demonstrate the steps.

GETTING STARTED

You’ll need to download the MODALapp from Modal. You can download it here:

Once you’ve downloaded the app, connect your Argon8 synthesizer to your device via the USB connector and open the MODALapp application. If your synth needs to be updated, the firmware will automatically update. You will then be presented with the following editor screen – click the ‘Preset Manager’ section, and select the ‘Patch’ and ‘Replace’ buttons. Then select the bank where you wish to install the patches, right-click and select ‘Import’*

Select all the patches you wish to install and click OK. They will then install and you’ll see this message:

Done! Alternatively, you can import them individually if you prefer. Just select the patch on your Argon8 you want to replace by right clicking it, click ‘Import’* and select one of the new patches you want to install.

*If you wish to backup any of your presets before installation, click ‘Export’ instead and save them to your computer.
